1. Find a good breeder. One you feel comfortable with, puppies
are handled and kept clean and always check to see the parents. ( Some breeders use stud dogs, but will be willing to show
you a picture of that parent) You may even ask to speak to stud dog parent.
2. The longer the dachshund the more
careful you need to be.
3. Controll your dachshunds weight. An over weight dachshund can have several health problems.
4. Dachshunds should never jump from couches, beds or high places.
5. Handle with care, ask young children
to sit while holding the dachshund to insure a sudden move and the pup falls.
Dachshunds have been Competing
in Agility for years and it's in their nature to be sporty. Any healthy dog can recover from an accident.
